Mincher Family Lines - John David Mincher

John David Mincher
1850, Missouri – 1937, Arkansas

John David Mincher was born 27 November 1850 in Crawford County, Missouri to James Campbell Mincher and Lucinda Mariah Gregory.
John was the 4th of 10 children.

His siblings were:
Andrew Jackson Mincher (1844-1941)
Elizabeth R [Mincher] Borden (1847-?)
Emily Adeline [Mincher] Britton Dicus (1849-1933)
Jonathan Littleton Mincher (1854-1932)
Benjamin C Mincher (1856-1877)
Thomas M Mincher (1858-1940)
William Jesse Mincher (1862-1940)
George Mincher (1867-1897)
Lucinda Catherine [Mincher] Smith (1870-1954)
David Jesse Mincher (?-?)

John was born late in 1850, so the 1st census he would have appeared should be the 1860.

1860 Census:
The first census that John would have appeared would be 1860, but I have not been able to locate it.

1870 Census:

John was living in Union, Crawford Co., MO.
For some reason the age for John is listed as 8, they must have forgotten the 1 in front of the 8 since he married Harriet Clark the next year,
and I can't really see a 9 year old marrying a 19 year old.
He is living with his parents, James & Lucinda, his siblings Johnathan, Benjamin, Thomas, William and George.

Also listed on the same page, but as their own families:
John's brother Andrew (listed as James – not sure why); his wife Catherine[Borden], and two children
John's sister Emily; her husband Washington Britton, and three children
John's sister Elizabeth(Eliza); and her husband John Borden (brother of Andrew's wife Catherine), and two children.

1871 – Marriage to Harriet Ann “Hattie” Clark
29 Jan 1871 • Missouri

-In December 1872, John's brother Jonathan L Mincher married Hattie's sister Mary Susan Clark
-John's brother Benjamin married Martha Borden (sister of Catherine and John), Ben died in 1877 and
Martha then married his brother Thomas.

1880 Census:
I have not been able to locate it.

1900 Census:

Enumerated on 24th June 1900, John was living in Upper Sebastian, Sebastian, Arkansas
He is living with his wife Harriet, and children Lucinda, Mary, Ollie(listed as Ellen), Nora, Katie(Catherine), Pearl Esther, and Francis.
This is a strange record only because it's the only one I've found with Lucinda and Francis. Also Mary is perplexing because she is on another 1900 census record with her husband Albert White and their children.
Lucinda was also married, so I wonder why they are both listed with the last name Mincher.

My great great grandma Mary

Mary Eliza Mincher was born 1 Mar 1874 in Crawford, Missouri(there are differing records, some say she was born in Caldwell County, and others say Adair County, the only consensus is she was born in Missouri) to John David Mincher and Harriet Ann “Hettie” Clark.
Mary was the 2nd of seven children.

Her siblings were:
Lucinda Elizabeth, the oldest; Francis, the only son; Ollie Rosa; Nora Isabelle; Catherine; and Lester Pearl

1880 Census:
The first census that Mary would have appeared would be 1880, but I have not been able to locate it.

Albert Ross White & Mary Eliza Mincher
On 19 Dec, 1890, Mary married Albert Ross White in Keysville, Crawford County, MO

A. R. White of Keysville, Crawford Co., Mo. Over 21; Miss Eliza Mary A. Mincher of Keysville, Crawford Co., Mo. Under 18;

She is living with her husband Albert; her daughter Mabel (born 1891); son Curtis (born 1894); son Arthur (born 1896);
and a woman named Lula Freeman who is listed as a servant.

Mary and Albert were living in Steeville, Crawford Co., MO
She is living with her husband Albert; her daughter Mabel; son Curtis; son Arthur; daughter Josephine(b. 1900); son Shelby(b. 1907) and son Oswald(b. 1909)
They are listed as living on Main Street.

Mary and Albert had 2 other children between 1900 and 1910.
Josephine was, in fact, a twin. Her twin sister Evaline passed away at 2 months old. The second child born between 1900 and 1910 was Henry.
Henry was born in 1902 and passed away in 1907. He was 3 months shy of his 5th birthday.

Josephine had Tuberculosis, so they decided to move to Colorado hoping Josephine would feel better.

By 1940 Mary and Albert are now living in Canon City.
She is living with her husband Albert; her grandson Marvin is also listed with them.

Albert died in 1946 and Mary in 1967.
Obituary
Mary's obituary contains many errors - She did not live in Pueblo for 46 years, she was about 46 when she moved to Pueblo. They weren't there long before moving to Fremont County. Also her sister Pearl's last name was Huey, not Hugh.

Mary's death certificate
They are both buried in Lakeside Cemetery in Canon City.
