Virgil worked for the Boeing Company in Wichita until 1969 and then transferred with them to the Seattle area. He and Vera spent their later years in Marysville where they lived near some of their children. He was active serving young men in the Quivera Council of Kansas and the Evergreen Council of Washington Boy Scouts of America. Dad was a steelhead plunker, bird and game hunter, golfer and furniture craftsman. He enjoyed square dancing with Vera with the Whirlybirds.
